Theatre

Present for many centuries in Lausanne, theatre holds a special place in the hearts of the people of the city, which explains the increase and popularity of theatre halls. Voltaire had many of his plays enacted in Lausanne. However, what really put the city in the spotlight for theatre were the tours of the Vidy theatre in the 20^th century and the Béjart Ballet. Some theatres such as the Lutin theatre are accessible to children from the age of three.
