What does the nephrologist do?
Nephrologists are internal medicine doctors who specialize in kidney diseases. These often occur after many years of elevated blood pressure, in diabetes or in congenital diseases such as hereditary cystic kidneys. Nephrologists treat kidney disease, including kidney stones, using conventional (non-surgical) methods.
